I agree on the dealership. The further north I drive the less Mini's I see. I was just up in Cumberland yesterday and didn't see a single Mini on the road.

FL is about the same way really. There are alot of people who drive MINI's, 2 live probably within 5 miles of me, but they never wave either.. I have yet to get a wave back. But like the guy said up in the top somewhere, alot of people are driving them and not being the enthusiast I guess.

PPfffffft! Allentown, what's up in Allentown? Harrisburg/York/Lancaster is so much better! They might as well have thrown one up in Perry County ;-)

I had suggested a little while ago getting all the Central PA Mini's together at some point, just have to figure out when and where.

I always wave to Minis and MINIS, but I am in our Toyota Van and the wife has the MINI. Sometimes I get waves back.

I am very lucky..... the West Chester area is full of friendly MINI owners.
We have MINI of West Chester, MINI of the Main Line, AND a Classic Mini dealer/restoration shop in West Chester.

Yeah the closest one to York is Towson which is about 45-60 mins away. I'd say 80% of them in this area are pre-owned brought in by dealerships to "sell a gimmick car". There isn't a dealer in York that knows ANYTHING about Minis. I saw an `07 for sale yesterday down market street with a huge "SUPERCHARGED" across the front of it. They either had the year or th specs wrong. derrr

There's a Ford dealership here that's had an '07 on the lot for about 1.5 years..... they are asking more for it than I bought my '09 brand new for..... I almost want to go in and tell them how stupid they are.....or greedy.

You're lucky that you have 07's in the area. The one I saw was the first 07 I've seen in York for sale on a lot; every other one (literally, I've looked) is an 06 or newer.

... and a few months ago, the Saturn dealership was advertising a
2005 MCS with "turbo" for a while in the classifieds.

I've seen that a couple times, but it was perplexing to me to see the other way for some reason.

I've been waving to a bunch of Mini owners recently (this morning, I waved to a local Chili Red Justacooper w/white stripes, and a few days ago, I waved to a pepper white Mini w/ a York College sticker). Woo hoo!

Mini's are no longer rare, or enthusiasts cars anymore. Especially since the gas prices of a year ago, more Mini's are owned by "just need a small car" buyers than enthusiasts.

I stopped waving at Mini's some time ago.

I've been to Cali and I understand from your perspective since out there it looks like a mini dealership threw up all over the roads. If you read up further tho you'll realize where we're coming from. The area we're in does not have a dealership close, even remotely which means if you get a Mini you have to WANT one and search for one. Heck, I look at the local dealers all the time and the most I've ever seen on all the lots in York is 5, all used. Its a different world than .. pretty much anywhere in Cali which is why I am always so surprised that I get few wavers.

I got all excited.

Mordecai - was that YOU on Trindle in Camp Hill this morning?
