Caliper Paint Question...

I want to paint my calipers but don't want to stick with the std reb/blue/black colors. Any idea what I could do for a "Custom" color? I was hoping to paint them a dark blue metallic that would play off the Astro Black well and the only thing I could think of was to either mix Blue, Black and Silver G2 kits together (and hope it looks good) or maybe try and find an Engine enamel that's close (but the I'd have to spray it on )

Any advice/ideas appreciated, thanks

I wouldn't count on a metallic - if the G2 silver is metallic, that's news to me!
And, practically, having them metallic just makes it that much more obvious that they're dusty IMHO.

If I were you, I'd get G2 Blue and Black kits, and add a little blue to the black and start mixing until you get a shade of black/blue that you like. It's not going to be exact - but it doesn't even really need to be that close to body color to look good - it's a small surface, and it's half hidden in the shadows behind your wheels, and it will always have some brake dust on it, and...

Anything in the right general tone would look very good and be You-nique!

The G2 kits do NOT look like they have much paint in them when you open the can - in reality there's enough for three good coats on all four calipers in each kit. What I would do if I were you is pour HALF the black paint into another disposable container, then start adding blue to it a little at a time and see how that works. You can dab a bit on a card and hold it up to your car in the light to see how it looks. That way, if you add TOO MUCH blue, you'll have some black to add back to back it off a bit... when ready to start painting, you can add one bottle (or there abouts) of the hardener, mix, and paint. Doesn't have to be an exact science... It WILL look good when you're done!

Pretty easy - just takes your car out of commission for a day and a half to do it "right". See my writeup here.
