Question about quality wheels

As far as the material of wheels goes, I was wondering what the strongest type of wheel is? And of course I am interested in looks and performance all in one shot. I thought the OZ ultraleggara was a HOT wheel, but I don't know what "LP Cast/Shot Peened" material exactly means? Thanks

Well, steel is probably the strongest common wheel material, but it's also heavy. Forged magnesium is super-strong while still being light, but it's very expensive.
The OZ wheels you're looking at, like most aftermarket wheels, are made of an aluminum alloy. "LP Cast/Shot Peened" means that the wheel is cast under low pressure, rather than being forged, and "shot peening" is a surface hardening treatment that also relieves internal stresses within the wheel.

Reviving an old thread. Just curious what you decided to go with as I'm in a similar situation now.

You really should buy one of my sets of Kodiaks. They are strong (forged, tempered, three-piece), light (under 15 pounds), and they are less expensive than my other four sets. They are also 8" wide which is a better fit for 225 r-comps. I'm making a wide-bodied racecar with stupid wide slicks or these would not be for sale.

I would if I was sure my Brembo calipers would fit under these wheels.
