Has anyone ever done/seen black REWINDS with red lip/pin stripe?

i'd say don't go w/the red lip... the only reason is if my memory serves me correctly the red lip on those sportmaxx wheels is almost pinkish... like a red annodized alluminium color instead of deep red.

but as other's have said... if oyu like it... get it... dont worry about the fact that alot of other cars have it... chances are the only other mini's you would see with that combo MAY be at the dragon or amviv... other than those times u'd prob be unique in your area.

'ultra-rare' so rare, I had a set and sold them already. Those are available in 15x7 and 16x7 from Tire Rack and the questionable DIY rattle can paintjob is optional.

Are they the Rg-f s? They are listed by a JDM importer, so they are most likly a japanese version. Paint looks original. . . and the lip looks deeper than the stock rg-f s.

they are RG-F's. BBS makes all RG-F's in Japan, so 'JDM'. They are a 15x6.5....not the normal size we see here.

it's definitely not identical...the lip is different as is the center cap. that's not original paint - BBS finishes don't chip like that usually.

overall...still a good deal at the current bid price

OOOOOoooohhhhhh. . . . I guess that's the first time I recognized that the 15" and 16" rg-f are so different.

15" has lip:

16" has much different spokes:

Strange. I wish the 16" looked like the 15". I really wanted that look in 16".

the offsets are different too, thus the lip.

Yea, but the 15" is et42 and the 16" is et35, so it should be the other way around. hmmm.

lower offset = more lip, or bolts deeper in the wheel. I am pretty confidant about that.

I guess it's just an effect of the curved spokes on the 15".

Where do you get them customed at and how long does it take to make them? Do you know the weight of the 16x7's? Thanks in advance.

12lbs. I got them through a wholesale distributor - he had a batch made up (minimum of ten sets) - 7 month wait. I don't believe any more are being made, but you can always ask. Dave at R&D Motorsports in Charleston, SC

Like I said eariler... I had black rims with red lip on my car for well over a year.

I'm tempted to sell them now though since they are so common. I'm starting to see badly home-painted versions on Honda's around town. Ugh.

They look good though, there is no denying it.

Real nice JennB-

I've always liked your look, I think because you have a red top and mirrors. . . not so much black. . . And leave a little chrome for flavor.

Funny to see this thread come back to life. I just got my black/red wheels delivered today...as soon as I get tires and have everything mounted I'll take some pictures to share.
