Need some advice on trading stock run-flats

Hi,

I have my 06 JCW on order and plan on having summer and winter tires plus a spare for the Mini.

It is coming in with S-lites with all-season run-flats on it.

I would like to use the 16" R87 double-spoke (which are the only 16" Mini wheels that clear the JCW brakes) with Dunlop Winter M3 rubber in stock cooper size (195/55-16).

I would also like to get the Kosei 17" silver wheels with some decent summer only rubber.

Of course, I will also need a 15" steel donut (JCW says it fits the rear axle only) for a spare.

Any advice on how I can do this? The dealer I ordered the Mini through didn't want to help me on this at all. I plan on having the winter set with me when I pick it up and swapping tires on-site. Doubt I will get the $225/wheel (dealer price) + $188/tire (Tirerack price) for them... but I do not doubt I will have to pay the $176/wheel dealer price and $109/tire TireRack price plus tax and shipping for one of the sets I want.

Then there is the summer set... and spare...

Any advice?

thanks,
-alfredo

I keep a Slime kit in the boot for emergencies and only put the donut spare in the back when I go on longer trips. If you visit "The Bag Lady" (http://www.njbaglady.com/), who is a MINI owner, she will custom make a bag for your spare tire... makes it easier to move in and out as needed and stops the black tire scuffs from accumulating on your interior plastic.

Are you in Dallas now? Be sure to join up with the local club... very active group... monthly whole-group meetings, regular weekly breakfasts and happy-hours, regular group drives and events, holiday parties and a prolific message board.

Hey Dallas... I am looking for someone for the wheels... That is unless you have the Kosie K-1 TS 17" wheels with new 215/45YR17 BFG gforce TA KDW2s in which case we can do an even swap.

I posted this around the same time I contacted you to see if you were interested.
