I am running the R105's and have no rubbing @ stock height. Once the runflats wear out, I am going to see if we can get 225/30 on them.

I went through this a few moths ago, real world experience speaking here.

Yeap, HomerJ purchased my old wheels. I had very little rub, I never trimmed the car either it was so little. Mine was a 05 MCS, I think Homer has a 04..

So, even at stock height it will vary from car to car and also how much weight you put into the car..

Check my signature. I have an 05. And they rubbed on my wifes 06 MCS and our 06 Cooper as well, with only one person in the car and no cargo. Not minor rubbing either. This was AFTER significant trimminig of the rear fenders trim and wheel well liners.

I promise you will not be happy with a 225/40/18. The rubbing will drive you nuts! Go with 215/35/18's

Homer- do you feel that its possible to ever actually lower a car on 18s (not just the 1 inch drop of h-sports)?

Lowering 1 inch would be no problem.

Yes - lower offsets require trimming with 215/35

[I just bought similar wheels, of course prob. paid less than yours, and mineare silver finieshed, anyhow mine are 18X7.5 w/ 42 offset- your mini looks lowered and if so, what size tires are you running on, for I am currently looking for a set and plan to use lowring springs later on.... thanks!

Safe to get 215/35-18 tires. See your other post in another thread for more tire info.

I have 18" RacingHart wheels on mine and spent 6 months in Montreal... Quebec's roads are terrible, and would be #1 on the USA list...

I had no problem but I was very careful...

Get some 18"!! With a slight drop, it will look great! Check my gallery or click on my signature for pics!
