Tire Rack

I know Tire Rack doesn't list them on their website but they might be able to special order them since they do carry OZ wheels. I just bought some Ultras (not F1s) and did a lot of searching on the net and never came across a dealer that carried black F1s. I don't know OZ' policy but most manufacturers won't sell directly to the public, although they may lead you to a dealer that can get what you're looking for.

I think they were a limited edition item, so I don't think your going to find a new set anywhere. You might pick up a used set and have the paint stripped and then powder coat them flat black.

Powder coat

There was a good post earlier in this section regarding powder coating wheels. If I remember correctly, Alex from Tire Rack provided some good info regarding 'baking' wheels and the subsequent loss of tensile strength of the metal.

Yeah, maybe after Alonso (Renault) takes the championship(s) next weekend, OZ will re-release them.

What is the difference between the regular ultra leggerras and the F1's? Is it weight? I can't seem to find a differnce on OZs website. Need to know since these are going to be my next wheels.

What offset should I use for 17x7 and 15x7 (autox)?

OK, I need to pull the trigger on some new wheels and tires this week because our track day is Nov 4th. They need to be black, 17 x 7 and light

Suggestions?

How 'bout gray? I have a set of lightly used Kosei K1-TS to sell - they're 17 x 7 & 14.1 lb each. There are a few other pics that show the wheels on my MINI in my gallery (though I'm afraid none focus directly on the wheels). If you're interested, I'll put on my thinking cap and come up with a price.

Those are great wheels, but black is a must for me. I'm sure you won't have any issue getting rid of them.

I ended up having my 18" Ultralegerras powder coated anthracite. It wasn't cheap, but it was done right and guaranteed. I also added 5mm spacers. I think they turned out pretty nice.

I know how it is - sometimes when you want black, you really want just black - thought I'd check. I'm just as unreasonably opinionated in the opposite direction.....I'll take almost any shade of gray (other than silver/chrome) but NOT black. The darkest rims I have are my 16 x 8 Rota Slipstreams in Royal Gunmetal - pretty dark, but not black..... Good luck in your search.

They turned out awesome! I have a set of 18 r105's but need a light 17" track day tire/wheel combo. I'm also considering the new 17's as my daily wheel as well. The 18's are rough as daily driver with the H-Sport springs.
