I ran my MSC in a test and tune day at the Reno autocross. I am running the stock 17" wheels and Pirelli run flat tires. OK, so I found out for myself that the tires are not very good. I want to get new tires for the street and the autocross for these wheels. I plan on getting new wheels and DOT tires later, however, for right now I am stuck with the present wheels. Any advise on tire sizes and brands would be greatly appreciated.

Alex, what tire size and brand would you recommend me:

I have the stock suspension (not the sport plus) and my car has the 175/65 15 inch pirelli (the 3000 I think).

Quite honestly these tires are too skinny and feel very ill suited for the Mexico City pavement (very rough roads, rains a lot). These tires seem very soft and do no honor to the car´s handling abilities.

I have Michelins (don´t remember type, but Z rated) on my other car, which I think are excellent tires for these roads, though very hard (makes the ride harsh).

What tires and tire size would you recommend me? I still want to keep the 15 inch rims and without altering my speedo reading too much, but I do want wider tires (something like a 195). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try 205/55/15
Dunlop Sport 5000. This is the extact same 23.9 inch diameter, so your spedo stays accurate. Very smooth and comfortable, sportier than your current choice. Very nice value, and $86 ea currently

Anyone know anything about Hankook Ventus K104 tires? I've had a couple guys pushing these. The price is right as I'll be running 18's. I am also looking at the Yokahama Prada's. Thanks for any info.

Alex,

Is there any chance that The Tire Rack is going to stock 165/60R12 tires for my 71 Mini?

The only other place in the US to purchase this size tire is from Mini Mania in California or Talon Tires in Canada.

Thanks

We have access to 165/70/12. I do note have a 165/60/12 available.
