I'm interested in replacing the OEM wheels on my 06 MCS (16" v-spoke). I like the light weight of the RpF1 (13.7 lbs for the 16"). It's my understanding that the 15" wheel don't fit. Wanted to see if anyone has the 16" and if there are any fitment issues? How durable are these wheels. Pictures would be great.
I don't have these wheels, but they're one of the only ones I've considered to replace my holeys if I go 16" - talk to one of the guys at Edgeracing - I think this is a semi-forged wheel and should be very strong. As I recall the 16" has the right offset as well.
...and it's interesting that most wheels only show a 2 lb difference between the 15" & 16" but on Edge's website, the 15" weights in at a little less than 10 lbs but the 16" weighs in at almost 14 lbs. I haven't heard that the 15" RPF1 wheels won't fit a stock MINI, anyone else heard that?
I got 16" RPF1's 4
43 offset with 205-50-16 Advan AD07
And they fit perfectly no rubbing issues at at.
They are not forged but spun.
Something called MAT technologie...
Wow, they look like 15s. . . NICE! I guess the perspective is skewed against the other car on the right. Do you have springs? I'm having a hard time seeing the tire on my crappy work computer screen. Are you considering any center cap options?
This will probably be the wheel I will purchase after my stock 16" runflats bite the dust. I'll mount snow tires on the stock wheels. I don't think the RPF1's are stunningly good looking, but they're quite light and well made.
Have them now for about 2 years.
No any damaged after a lot of bumps and fast corners.
Need to change rubberboots though as they are almost worn. These Advan AD07 don't last very long but give a lot of grip.
I bought Coop d'Etat's MCS with the 15" RPF1s. The clearance issue is on the front. They do fit with a bit of modification, but even the wheel weights are on the outside due to clearance. The wheels are only 9.5 pounds.
I'm running 205/50/16.
But just had a puncture a few days ago.
non repairable, need to find four new ones.
It was about time. They lasted 2 years. about 26000km.
These are the 16" RPF1s with 205/50 tires. The wheels look relatively small due to the thicker rim "ring" design, which in effect shortens the length of the double spokes. The center caps, unfortunately, must be purchased separately. These are easier to clean than the MINI R99s, and significantly lighter in weight!
Even though the RPF1 is a quality wheel, I have never warmed up to its looks. I think the RS+M is a better looking wheel, and only one pound heavier (in 16s).
Price wise, they are very close.
