brake pad wear sensor not working!

I installed new pads and replaced the brake pad wear sensor for both the front and rear. Yet the brake pad wear indicator light is still on. This is the light that has a circle and three dashes on each side of the circle. Anyone know if I did something wrong or if there's anything that needs to be reset? Thanks in advance.

Hopefully it is fixed by now...

...but if not, try turning the ignition key to the #2 position for around 30 seconds without turning over the engine...the light goes out!

We need to get the word out about this...I had the same trouble over the summer and had to go to a BMW forum to get the answer. The Bentley manual doesn't even list this fix! Maybe a sticky on this forum...

That's a nice thought, but since my rears are going to wear out every 30K or so, I'd like to know when they are going to go out...besides, I paid for the 'feature', might as well use it!

Yep, haven't had sensors for two years. I change pads a lot (for the track) so I will never need to be reminded.
