Proper tire size for an 18X8 wheel

Looking for some expertise, I ordered an 18x8 HRE Wheel and was told to put a 225-35-18 on it, but someone else recommened a 215-13-18. Can someone shed some light on what the difference would be and which would be better?

i assume ur sayin' 215 35 18 fer tha second choice^ if ur lookin' to do an aggressive drop then ur best choice would be a 215 tomake sure that ur tyre does not get in tha way,u will have a bit af a stretch 'look' tho. a 225 would be better if urlookin' fer that slight stretch 'look' w/more rubber to protect ur kick *** HRE's.....go w/ what HRE recommends they noe best!!
btw:: have ya any pix. of these HRE wheelz ur usin'???

since you are getting HRE's, which use custom offsets, you will be able to fit a 225/35-18 on there. I did. I ran 18x8 JLine SDMSL2 with 225/35-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. Lowered on H&R Springs and no rubbing at all.

while researching for a set of 18x8 Hamann's, I was recommanded to go with the 215-35-18.

i am still thinking hard about the set. can you breifly explain the "stretch" problem? should that be a concern for me?

the hamann's come with a 43mm offset.

tha more u stretch a tyre tha less protection u will have for ur wheels when u hit a hole intha road(less rubber to break impact), tha more lip u have on ur wheels the weaker tha rim/wheels tend to be.
on those HAMANNS u speak about they are heavy duty so even tho they kinda have a deep lip u should be fine, its a strong wheel to begin w/. light weight is not always better...
