R91 Bullets + GY Eagle F1 GS-D3 215/45/17

I took the stock s-lites/goodyear all season combo off of my MCS at 1300 miles and replaced them with bullets/f1 gs-d3s. On my previous MCS I ran 205/45/17 yoko avs es100 and holies with conti all seasons.

First thing noticed, lack of zippiness. Moving up to the larger diameter seemed to negate any affect that the lower gearing had which was so obvious after taking delivery.

Second, wow do these ride nice. They don't crash over bumps but still offer a firm ride. Very surprising how much better they rode than the runflats or my previous avs es100s.

Third, tonight after finally feeling like the tires were broken in, DSC went off for the first time. Driving around with DSC on and the amount of times it kicked in I was ready for some inside corner tire scorching. My previous yokohamas would light up on my old MCS easily. NEITHER of my minis have had the LSD. These goodyears DON'T light up at all, woohoo. I don't know whether it is a combination of the reduction in gearing, the wider contact patch, or stickier tread, but these babies grip and I couldn't be happier.

I picked my hyper blue out of stock. My only other choice was an astro black with fewer options or an identical hyper with a black roof and 50 miles on it. My point, I would have preferred getting one with the LSD, but there wasn't one available. I also read the early reports of the LSDs making noise which would have really bugged me.

Overall I highly recommend the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3. They ride great and stick well. I don't know if I would recommend the taller tires or not. The increased sidewall did take away some of the zip but now as the car is breaking in more and more, I am not really noticing it.
