I want my S (coming june) to look just like this one:

http://www.mini-madness.com/item.htm...p;PRID=1209361

But my mini garage inform me that u cant just buy the car without the standard wheels, so what do u think is the best route to go down? Shall i just get the car with the standard wheels, buy these aftermarket and then try to sell the originals? But i dont think too many people will want to buy them. Will/should the mini garage buy them off me and for how much?

My second question is whether having 18 inch wheels will compromise the ride, handling. will there be any rubbing etc when i have a few people in the car?

Thirdly and finnaly would i need to have adjustments to my suspension, if so what and how much approx would it cost? I emailed the mini-madenss people about this picture and they said it had been "lowered with springs". I dont know much about mechanics, so do they mean lowered on the standard springs or new ones? and is this better to get all this work done by bmw or someone else?

Thanks in advance for any replys

you should be able to sell whatever wheels come with your car!
18" wheels with lowering springs are gonna add up to a rough ride!
you really should decide whether you are going for looks or performance!
do a search on mini2 for kahn's, a bunch of people have them without lowering their car's!
they still look killer! do some research on springs here too!
that car also has it's wheel arches painted!
to get your car to look like that one, it's gonna cost you!

Cheers, ill have a look. I dont care how much it will cost, thats gonna be my car! I love it! Already have a quote for painted arches-£400-500 ($800ish) Not too bad.

18s have one plus - to some they look great.

But they make the ride harsher, car will handle worse, car will accelerate worse due to the heavier weight of the 18s and the larger rubber needed as well as the weight being further from the center of the axis. To me if you are really hung up on looks(not saying that is a bad thing) but I would not go any larger then 17s. To me looks are last...handling first....I plan on getting Volk TE37s in 16x7 trim...sure they cost more but cheaper in the long run campared to the higher price someone has to pay for tires on an 18" wheel.
