Is a runflat better than standard tire and fix-a-flat?
I'm trying to come to a decision on the runflat VS standard tire and fix-a-flat issue.
Is there a situation where a standard tire and fix-a-flat combo will leave you stranded where a runflat would allow you to get to your destination?
The only thing I can think of is a complete blowout, sidewall cut, etc. Wouldn't a runflat also fail under a sidewall cut?
I do realize the chances of the runflat having a sidewall failure are less than with a standard tire.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks,
JS

I want to say that most runflats can still work with up to a golfball sized hole cut out of the sidewall but I am not sure.
So in that case a runflat would be better. Unless you are taking your MINI down the rubicon though I don't think you need to worry about sidewall gashes that big.

in most situations a run-flat will get you to your destination in one piece, plus you don't have to screw around with the fix-a-flat can-o-crap.
the lazy crowd will dig easy easy easy of runflats
the performance/tweak crowd will opt for non-run-flats and carry around fix-a-flat and hope for the best.
Me? I'll burn off my factory Pirelli's, put on non-run-flats, not carry around a can of fix-a-flat, and use my future-new Yokohama ES100's as run-flats anyway
)
The conclusion, is yours to make,
Cheers,
Ryan
