Lightweight lug nuts

Any recommendations on lightweight lug nuts? I've done the stud conversion, so no more lug bolts for me! I would like something light, but not insanely expensive. Any help / suggestions on what to get and where to get them would be greatly appreciated.

Just remember that if you plan on doing frequent wheel changes, you must be prepared to accept these lightweight nuts as disposable items. And no more power tools to change your wheels if you go with aluminum lug nuts!

I have owned a set of tckline aluminum nuts back in the day with one of my M3's. Finally had to retire them after so many wheel changes at the track, they just fell apart over time. Now I am back to steel nuts for all my cars (except the MINI which still has the stock lug bolts-- for now).

Here the link to tckline's site if you want to pick up a set of these for your car (BMW and MINI have same thread pitch for stud conversions). They are amazing pieces though, feel like rice paper in the hand:

Good luck,
ben

I feel the same as benaj. I do a lot of wheel changes because I autocross. If you want to save weight and maintain durability just get open ended lug nuts. The weight you'd save with the true light weights would never be noticed with their very small weight savings and being so close to the center of the wheels.

I was searching for the same thing for my Neons a few years ago. I considered some of the really expensive lightweight racing lugs that are advertised a number of places for around $80-100. Thinking that was kinda steep for what I was getting, I got a couple of different sets of Gorilla brand lug nuts from Summit Racing and weighed them. The open back Gorilla lugs were within a couple ounces per corner at about 1/4 the price of the more expensive "lightweight" lugs.

Any particular brand of open ended lug nuts to look for or avoid? Or all they all pretty much the same?
