Does this look like normal wear
Does this look like normal wear
My Ferodo DS 2500 front pads have been driving me crazy with the noise. Some sqwealing I was willing to accept but it's gotten embarrassing to the point that I don't drive my car as often.
Today I finally put the stock pads back on and will swap them out prior to an autox or track day.
But, this is what I found when I took them off. It looks like the pads are crumbling at the edges on both sides and both inner and outer pads. Is this normal wear for this sort of performance pad?

I have the DS 2500 on two cars and love them, I havent checked to see if the wear is like yours. Since the edges are not chamfered I dont think its strange, but if it gets any worse, you might ask some people who know more about them.
I did put in some anti squeal pad inserts on my Porsche with DS 2500. It has 4 pistons on the front and it was horrible with the squeal. But I hated it, so I used those and stuffed it full of NAPA's anti squeal compound as well. Pretty good results so far.

i had ds2500 in the front for a good year now... to my suprised i manage to crack the backing plate on the inside pad when i was swapping out for the wilwood kit... and to think i was even on the track about 2-3 months ago on them... when the cracked i really have no idea....
just a headsup...
