Drilling stud pattern?

Hi all

heres a questino for the experts.

If i were to order a set of rims from a manufacturer without pre-drilled stud patterns, then got a professional to drill the 4x100 stud pattern to suit the mini, are there any risks of something drastic to happen?

(assuming the professinoal didnt stuff up with drilling the stud pattern)

Cheers

Not all bolt patterns are drilled at the manufacturer, for example, I have heard that the tire rack orders certain wheels w/o a bolt pattern, and drills the wheels themselves depending upon demand.

I would just make sure that whoever you get to do this does it pretty regularly. The mating surface between the wheel and the lug is pretty important, and you don't want to screw that up.

im not sure if i want to trust a local to machine a hole in my wheels...
unless they're part of a racing team or something that does this on a
regular basis.

you know how some people say their wheels never balance? i think some
of them are the result of the factory not drilling the holes properly.

Depends were you live, if you live out in the Cali region there are a lot of wheel companies that can drill your wheels the right way..

I can give you some names and contacts if you need wheels drilled.. What kind of wheels are you getting ?
