sick of flat run flats - maybe - opinions please
I am sick of having to pay the big bucks each time a tire punctures - now having two in 10 months (10,000 miles). I am in the Chicago area so we get snow although I do not drive my MINI a ton in the snow so I don't want two sets of tires (winter and other) so I prefer an all season tire (I think). So my options are suck it up and buy another runflat - or buy a new set of non - runflats which if I get flats in the future it won't cost me $250 to $300 to replace one tire. And maybe I can get a road hazard warranty making replacement cost even less. So I am asking for opinions on whether I should or should not replace runflats keeping in mind I want all seasons and secondly if I replace - what is the all season tire to get.
I think everyone here will tell you to ditch the runflats.
There are not that many High Performance All Season tires, but the ones I have (and many others here) are the Toyo Proxes 4.
I live in NYC and they carried me through last years pretty brutal winter no problem.
check www.edgeracing.com for pricing on them.

In my last car I went thru two sets of Mich. Pilot Sport A/S tires and was very happy with summer, winter, and even snow performance. On my A4/Quattro they lasted about 30K miles if I wasn't flogging them. I'm assuming that they make a size for the MINI.
On the Audi 225/45/17s (I think) they were $225 a tire, but I bet the smaller ones for a MINI are less.
