need help-brake noise

I'm trying to find out why my brakes squeak when going over bumps and the car (Cooper S) is only nine months old.

I almost sure that its coming from the brakes because it happened on my last 2 cars (Audi's). The problem was solved by replacing the brake pads. I'm trying to avoid changing the brake pads or would like to keep it from happening again.

Any thoughts would help.

If it's only a little squeel, I would say it's normal. I have found the pads BMW use dust and make more noise than some of the competition, but it results in better brakes. You could try cleaning them and putting a fresh coat of anti-squeel. I do that ater every track day, as my Ferodo 2500's squeel like mad once I cook off all the goop.

phil.
