Lost a 17 inch run flat on my MCS. Cot to replace from local tire dealer $265. Tire Rack was $185 but local store would mount for $60. BMW would sell tire unmounted for $295. Chose the local store as the cost was the about the same as TireRack when adding local labor. Nearest tire is in Chicago and I'm in St. Louis. I can't see the future in run flats. Can I change to regualr tires, tires that are avaialbe at reasonable prices? Do I have to change wheels? If I don't ever damage another tire (doubtful) I have to look forward to replacing all four due to normal wear and tear at maybe 15,000 miles (according to postings) This is insane. There are a lot of things I would rather spend my money on then tires. Any suggestions?

 

Yokohama AVES 100s.....although lots of places are sold out.

OE wheels work just fine. 215/45/17 will fit in ES100, and they are currently in stock.

I got 4 Yokohama AVS ES100 R16 205/50 from Discount Tire/America's Tire mounted for $395. Tirerack was out, but would have been about $340...so with mounting, was a good price.

Toss those nasty runflats!
