I am not enamored with Prada. Many years ago the company made purses that looked like black lace grocery bags with the Prada nametag (at that time in a white rectangle). Then there were lacy pants that looked like something off an emaciated matador. Soon the shoes. Then the red strip nametag. And now tires? At least they're black which harkens back to the original Prada monochrome theme.

I notice that Adidas and Nike have shoes designed by Junya Watanabe, Martin Margiela, and Paul Smith. I confess to being impressed by the split toed Martin Margielas. I look forward to seeing the Yokohama variants of those in vibrant colors on our MINIs.

Prada hasn't been the same since Jil Sander got the boot. I bought a few pairs of the Prada Sport shoes when they came out. Very comfy. Now it seems everyone has a little stripe thing. I do still love their pants though. They just fit me well. Ferregamo's new line seems more to my taste for shoes. I also picked up some Mihara Yasuhiro Pumas the other day. Pretty neat. Haven't really bought into the boutique Adidas yet.

And just in case we're not on the same wavelength, Prada isn't making tires. Just a reoccuring slip of the tongue.

Cool. I had a Jil Sander off-white blazer made of metal mesh. It doesn't fit me anymore and I doubt I could get on a plane with it, but what a talented designer. A friend's fiance in Frankfurt used to work for Jil Sander and admitted it was no pleasure. Yet I kept imagining her to be like Ellen DeGeneris (sp?)--perky, blond and funny. The reality is probably more like chain smoking Zaha Hadid. I'm still pleased she ended up designing tires for Yamaha though!

Just found this on a local forum. lol

" F/S -Prada Tire 17/205/40-Civic parts ..."
"1 single PRADA tire 17/205/40(49% grip) $10" <-- that cheap? must be fake.

Is it Prada tire or Parada tie he's selling? :impatient
