Anyone tried these new tires from General. They are made by Continental. At $80 a pop I'm looking.

 

Dan, I don't know if you ever met Randy Watts (he's one of the early SCMC members) but he just put General tires on his 02 Cooper. Say's he's happy with them so far, though they haven't been on long. He doesn't do much "spirited" motoring though.

 

AGRO,The place I saw them was out on Tropicana past the 215, they said they just installed a set on a MINI. They look good and are rated decent for performance and wear.

 

These are relatively good Ultra High Perf Summer tires at a reasonable price.

Available in 215/45-17 for $71 and in 215/40-17 for $70 each
Tread wear is 380, traction AA, Temp rating A.

Other good tires in that class are:
Yokohama ES100 About $102 each, 280 wear
Kumho Ecsta SPT About $93 each, 320 wear

That was probably Randy's MINI. He lives out that way. He said they came down in price for him cause the guy in line in front of him was screaming about how the place had ripped him off. It's often good to be the guy after the guy who got screwed.
