17" x 7.5" et38?

Does anyone have this setup? Can you please show me a pic showing how the wheel lip looks with respect to the fender arches. I am about to buy a wheel with this dimensions but I wouldn't want the wheel to be sticking out of the car. Thanks!

It does stick out but only a bit. It really depends on which tire you choose.
205/45-17 should be fine, while 215/45-17 would be a bit wider on that 7.5" rim but still not too bad. Keep the stock suspension to avoid rubbing. If you lower then the best you can do on wheel offset is about +42mm to +48mm otherwise it will rub too much. Even +42mm will rub a little under full load or with hard cornering and bumpy surfaces.

225/45-17 would be too wide.

Not a great picture but you should get the idea. My last set of rims were Antera 309's that were 17 x 7.5 et 35. They filled every mm of the fender well. I really did not have a rubbing problem except when a passenger was in the back seat. The rims were wrapped with Yoko avs 100's.

...well I would advise against it and will bet that they will rub for sure. The main reason I advise against it is that you will be limiting any future larger tire choices and forget about ever lowering the car. You really need to stick with a 45 offset on Mini wheels. 35 is just too little.

Darn! I was hoping to get the BBS CV's, but they only come in 38mm offsets. I already have my car dropped so I guess it's out of the question. Hmmm, maybe they do make that wheel with higher offsets. I'll go ask Alex. Thanks for the info though!
