I wanted to stick with 17's as I did not want to buy new tires when I have perfectly good ones which had 4k miles on them. And I have snow tires for the stockers. As for dropping it, I do not want to do that as it is already low in clearance wise. I do not want to worry about trying to clear something. i.e. NJ has many speed humps in my area and they are annoying and a pain in my **s.
