Where to get tires put on

I love the Tirerack and I have pasted them driving from Chicago to PA.
But I live in the Northern Subs of Chicago.

The dealer quoted me 300 to install 2 stock tires on a 2003 Mini Cooper.

Seems high. So can anyone tell me a good company (Discount Tire...Sears..).

How much is it to install normally.

My last two front tires only lasted under 15,000 miles (they said 60,000). It would be close to impossible to get them cover this...right?

Thanks in advance.

A good way to find a "quality" place is to call around and ask them if they have a road force balancer.

You could also use the Tire Rack recommended installer list to find someone -
http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=EZ3&url=/installer/index.jsp

BTW, I personally wouldn't pay more than $20/tire to have them mounted.

What is a road force balancer? Why is it better then a normal balancer.

Thanks for the link. I'll try that now.

I just ordered 4 new tires from tire rack - shipped to my door, then I took them up to Discount Tire and had them mounted for about $60 (all 4).

Im in the westerns subs...I heard JustTires in Hanover Park (near

Irving Park and Barrington Rd) is pretty good with not scratching
up wheels. One of my buddies had their tires mounted onto some
18" Volks without getting any scratches. Guy's name at JustTires
was Justin, I think. He's good at doing performance alignments too,
from what I heard from the 350Z guys.

Personally, when my SSR's needs new tires I will drive up to
TireRack, buy the tires, and get them mounted as I wait. It's only
about 2hours drive plus, drop off the wife at Michigan City and
I won't have to tag along while she goes through those stores....yaawn.

Alex is da man!
