Tracking the AVS100
Your Yokohama AVS ES100s look much better than mine did after running them on the track. I have a tight left hand turn bias 0.8 mile track with four left turns and one right turn. I chew up the outer edges of the right front tires and spare the rears. I've had chunking of the tread in my ES100s from overheating the tread (with too much tread depth).
Your tires look like they were worn a bit before tracking or were they new?
New tires may not do as well if overheated on the track.
Are you running stock alignment settings or do you have more negative camber in the front or rears? Any suspension upgrades?
How did you like the ES100s? Mine were OK and did perform better than the stock 17" runflats. I sometimes run Bridgestone Potenza S-03s on the track and they do a little better/ wear a little better.

Actually the tires perform great. Very fast track tire for a street tire I would say.
They had about 8000 miles on them including a slower track day at Lime Rock before this. Rear camber is about -1.85, 0 toe, which certainly helped with the wear.
I do like the tire. I'm looking for someone in my area that can shave them a bit to get the 'blocking' out. I will now be running designated track tires from this point on.
Anyone know who can shave tires in the northeast?

Any more track days for me and I'll have to get a spare wheel/tire set too. I don't think the Kumhos will last very long with more events.

You're mainly seeing it on the rears because the fronts are scrubbing it off.

Those don't look too good.
They definitely overheated. I wonder what the stock tread depth is on that tire.

Regardless of most any brand tire, if it is fairly new with good depth of tread, on a track it is going to tear or chunk the tread. The only way to avoid this is to have the tread shaved to about 3/32 to 4/32 or buy a tire that is designed for autox or track use.
Playing with camber and pressures can help but, if your at full depth of tread, their going to chunk.
