225/50/15 will it fit an MCS?

Tried searching, and not having much luck.

Will a 225/50/15 on a 15/7 et43 wheel cleanly fit a stock MCS? ie no rubbing issues.

Anyone? Thanks!

They should fit. I tried a 225/50/15 BFG KD on my car for autocrossing with 15x7.5, +43 SSR's but didn't like the feel of them compared to the Azenis I had been running. It will be a very close fit to the front strut and not all 225's are the same width. I had to use a 1/16" spacer on the front, if I remember right, but I was on 7.5" wide rims which makes a difference. Check the specs on the tire you have in mind and see how wide it is compared to most other 225's, if it's on the wide side look for something else.

Cool thanks, I'll give them a shot.

IT's the Yoko ES100s that according to tirerack have a slighly narrower scection width than the BFGs.

225/50-15 tires on a 15x7 rim with stock suspension should be fine.

For competition/racing we often will try for 225/45-15 for the most wide tire with the lowest profile and stiff sidewall but the outer tire diameter is rather small for street use although it does help with gearing on the track.

For street use you should be fine with the 225/50-15 size which is slightly larger in tire diameter (than 205/50) close to stock.

205/55-15 would be the more common size to use for street use. It's lighter, costs less, fits fine, is nearly stock size outer diameter, has better rolling resistance since it is 20mm more narrow, performs well in street conditions, and offers a good selection of tires in that size for street use.

225/50-15 look wider, weigh about a pound more each. Costs $85 each vs $78 for 205/55-15 from tirerack.

For a smoother ride even the Yokohama ES100 in 195/60-15 is worth a look.
Better for commuters, more comfortable, $73 each, stock outer tire diameter, narrow but still has enough performance. At 20 pounds each vs 21 pounds for the 225/50-15.
