help me with a tire-size question

This ones about the diameter
15'' 16'' 17'' 18''

here's my question...

lowering springs are popular and, on a MINI, for good reason. Lowering 2700lbs by an inch is HUGE!

but why does it seem that larger tires are better? why get 17's instead of 15's? 2 inches higher?!

Just give me the advantages/reasoning for 15's and 17's.

Ive only ridden mine with 16's(came with) so i have no exp to answer this question by myself so please forgive me.

Thanks much, my fellow MINI maniacs!

I'd do a forum search, as this topic has been covered a few times, I bet you'll have a wealth of results.
