Axis Wheels...Question

Hey I'm looking at a set of Axis Se7en Mod wheels, the size is 18" x 7.5", et42. This would fit the Mini pretty well right? I don't think there should be any rubbing and I wouldnt have to roll my fenders right? Let me know what you guys think.

Also, about tire sizes which would work better do you guys think: 215/35/18 or 225/40/18? Any advice would be great, also maybe a good place to get some runflats in these sizes would be great. Thanks for the help.

With 18s if you want 225s you will need to have 35 side walls...for two reasons

1. It will run if you car is lowered....if it's not lowered no prob...
2. you speedo will be off by almost a mile and a half per hour I forget the exact # but I figured it out a while back...

other than that you are good to go!! I have done this so don't let anyone discurage you...18s rule especially for High speed tracks like Watkins glenn, Lime Rock, and of course LAGUNA!!!

I am even thinking of 19s for the shows....who knows!!

hope that helps!

I think I'll probably go with the 215/35s, I think it'd probably be a better fit. Anyone know where I can get some runflats in this size?

18x7.5" rims with et 42mm are OK for your MINI.
If you use non runflats the common size is 215/35-18 and there is a good selection of tires in this size at tirerack or edgeracing.com. You need to determine what you want to use these wheels for- primarily street, or track, or autocross, or driving school events???? Non runflats would cost alot less than runflats for 18" wheels.

If you want runflats (harsher ride but benefit of runflat safety) then your only option is the Dunlop SP sport 01 DSST in 205/40-18 for $255 each as found in the JCW kit wheels.

I think the non runflats would be my first choice. Lower price and better performance. Alex@tirerack.com can tell you your options either way.

Yea, it would be nice to save some money, but these rims are definately for street use. I don't plan on tracking the car, atleast not anytime soon. Hopefully I can get a deal on a set of those tires. We'll see what happens, thanks for the help.
