Working with a 2007 R56 Base with a space saver spare and I need to replace the valve stem and the valve stem extension because they have rotted out. The valve stem extension has welded itself onto the valve stem. I'm told that the hole in the wheel for the valve stem is smaller than normal, so it takes a smaller valve stem. Does this make sense?

The MINI dealer doesn't have a special valve stem for space saver tires, nor does RealOEM or ECSTuning....at least that I can find.

The part number for the valve stem extension is 31 10 6 783 425....$32.50.

 

I'm sure that any tire shop would have valve stems for space saver spares, there are a lot of cars that have spares like that.
