225/40 R18 Blizzak on 2016 JCW

I finally found a winter tire to replace my 205/40 R18 summer tire. However it's a 225/40. Will this be a problem to switch out with rubbing or are there any other issues here. Very limited on options without switching rims.

Thanks for any advice.

For comparison; 2013 JCW with 235/40/17 and lowered 2". NO PROBLEMS.

I have had tires that are 25" OD cause rubbing at the 225 width.

My 235/40/17 were purchased thru Tirerack (great vendor) and as I said -NO PROBLEMS on my lowered JCW. I suggest pulling wheel and setting the car at the ride height you desire and measure and compare to specs of tire brand of your choice. Take into consideration the offset/backspacing of your wheel and you could even go so far as making a 3D cardboard mockup of the wheel/tire using all the mfr's specs. It's alot easier than it reads and you'll be surprised at the outcome.

Why are you going for a wider winter tire?
