I have a R56 Mini that is red with a white roof. Currently the car has anthracite R90 wheels, but I have a set of R99s I am painting. I am trying to decide between painting them anthracite or silver.

The first 2 pictures are my car currently (the R90s are really dirty, the anthracite is usually a little lighter).

The next 3 are pictures of the wheels I want to put on.

What do you guys think? I'm not opposed to other color suggestions, but I'd like to keep the car understated (no gold or white).

 

Of the two, I'd go w/anthracite.

 

Silver is classic and looks good on every color. You could always do white to match your roof but I wouldn't suggest that without getting some low dust brake pads.

 

I don't like dark colored wheels. Every time I see them I think the poor sap lost his hub caps and can't afford to replace them. Between the two I'd go with the silver. Personally I'd go with white.

 

To get more complex I'd stick with the wheels as is but sand and paint the wheel trim in body color. That would look sharp.

 

I think silver looks best with a white top.
