Nice.... Wasn't that car for sale not long ago?

I disagree. Wheels are often the focal point of a custom car. Ask Chip Foose, Boyd Coddington (when he was still alive) or any other custom builder and they will tell you that the wheels are a very important part of the way a car looks. I love the look of black wheels on a car. My first MINI (a 2006) had silver wheels. My second MINI had black wheels. On a Dark Silver car with a black roof, they looked terrific. My current MINI is a Cosmic Blue/White Countryman. Currently, it has the 17" silver stock wheels on it, but I have a set of 19" gunmetal color wheels I'm going to be putting on shortly. I wanted something a little different than black this time, and I thought that gunmetal would be a good compromise between silver and black.

People like different things. I'm not a fan of black wheels, but if it is your thing that's great. I do like black wheels with a silver or red rim. All black just gets lost in the shadows. This would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Nope. I've owned it since 2007. It was just redone in matte 2 years ago.

I agree that custom wheels are incredibly important for a custom build, the wheels I got were originally copper colored. It all depends on the look you are going for. For me I wanted very monochrome (blue and black) so the only options for wheels were those colors, and to me, colored wheels look hideous. But again, to each their own.

I like black wheels, especially flat black. Chrome is so killed, and silver/alloy color is too plain and cheap looking.

I would take black wheels over anything, but also it depends on the wheel spoke. I cannot stand the 5 and 6 spoke wheels that come stock on minis. Thankfully our Mini is my wife's so I don't have to look at it all the time.

Black is back! Chromed/polished is out. White is okay if you have the time for the cleaning--ditto for chrome/polished. Black wheels go great with my Eclipse Gray/Black top combo.

Have fun and leave us black wheeled folks alone!

I do like the way black wheels look, but personally just think they are way too played out now. And by that I mean because u see them come standard on just about everything from dealerships including some prius' and minivans.

But, I have been thinking about putting some on my mini cause they would work so well with my colors(white silver, black roof, blackjack scuttles) or maybe a gunmetal color. Or just going completely opposite and have nearly pulled the trigger on going with a set of wheels and having them powder coated root beer.

I hate that term...."played out."

If you like the way black wheels look, get black wheels regardless of how many other people made the same choice.

Lots of people say Volk TE37's are "played out" but they are great looking, lightweight, and a great choice for wheels. Black TE37's? Even better! LOL.

I like those but not the uni lug . I'm putting hyper
Black Rotas on mine this weekend.

Hell, even have powder coated black exhaust!

The wheels will be replaced by black wheels when the time comes...

It took me some time before I switched to black wheels but happy with the look. I am 60 and it took my 21 year old son to talk me into the black wheels. He has them on his BMW E92 335i and they look great.

My MINI needs black headlights.

I just wanted to see why people chose black. To me it's like blacking out you car, so why have fancy wheels you can't see ? Not knocking just not my cup of tea. My triumph motorcycle came with black wheels . Not changing them out as $$ is too much for it , was no choice.

I think black wheels allow the brakes and rotors to pop out more, giving more depth to the look. Then again I do like silver rims as whee. Both has its strengths

I hope no one takes offense to this if you like S-Lites, just stating my reasoning for black wheels.
Fully agree! In my opinion the silver s-lites look gawd-awful with the pepper white paint. I bought a set of black 17's for summer and love the look with the PW paint. So much so that when I put the the s-lites back on for winter it looked so bad that I ran to the store for two cans of plastidip.

I've seen some cars on here that look REALLY good with metallic wheels, mine just isn't one of them.

i guess for some cars it looks good, not my thing for my mini. had the option of getting the black rpf1s, decided the silvers looked much better - and they were cheaper.
