We have a machine at work (shop). It does 4 tires at once - which is the nice part, you set (pressure) it and forget it, walk away, it does two purge cycles and then a final fill. That's its biggest advantage to me, is it just makes setting TP easier and quicker.
As for the benefits - I will say that it seems that the full shot of nitrogen seems to last longer in the tires. I'll go almost a full year without any meaningful pressure loss. (I swap off winter/summer tires..).
As for paying for it, no way.. I like Costco's model, give it away.
