Brackets on brake pad backing plate

My JCW Brembo brake pads of a bracket on the mounting plates. I just started to install my Carbotech AX6 pads with new rotors and the pads don't have the brackets on the backing plates. Picture shows what I am talking about.

Is that necessary?

If anyone else ever wonders, those brackets are not important for the function of the pads. I was told they are an anti-squeal bracket and help to remove pads.
