2004 MCS...Lug nuts?

I just bought a 2004 MCS last night, proud new owner of mini!
The last owner blacked out the car - black paint, black wheels and tint all around etc...
And I thought putting on red or blue lug nuts might be perfect!
However I couldn't find much information on the lug nuts...
I know they are m12x1.5
But how long do they have to be?
Can I just use the normal lug nuts usually designed for Japanese cars?
I read something about strut, but I don't really get it...
So in short, if I want some lugnuts, what do I have to do?
Thanks

Well, first, they are lug bolts instead of lug nuts. And I have some that I bought that I would sell if you were interested. They are in good condition, but I think I only have 15 instead of 16. But you can always remove the ones you have on the car and paint those and replace them. If you remove one from each wheel, paint it and then reinstall it you do not even have to take off the entire wheel, just one out of four lug nuts at a time. You should make sure you torque the lug nuts to the proper spec if you go that route.

The stock length is 28mm.

RAD USA has lug bolt caps so you might want to contact them to see if they have any in colors other than black or chrome:

Replacement black bolts are available from Tuner:

Have have not seen different color lug bolts.
You could swap to studs and lug nuts and get nuts in various colors:

You CAN convert to studs...then use lug bolts, or rims that use tuner lugs (the small lugs used on some rims)
They are a bit of a pain to install, worse to remove if you ever switch back to bolts, but it is possible...i ran a set for a few years for one set of rims i used till i found tuner bolts. Some folks like the studs better since it makes mounting rims a bit quicker for some.
