Save the round cardboard pieces. They make great mediaeval shields for kids with nerf swords!

They protect the sides of the rim. No need to protect the rubber tire... I mean they are designed to be driven on roads with 2500 lbs of car on top so it's not like it is fragile. I see no issues with this and two sets of wheels/tires have been received by Tire Rack in perfect condition shipped this way.

BTW nice choice of tires. Hankook V12s right? I would be curious what PSI you set them at... I still haven't found the right air pressure with this wonky spring weather outside.
