Hankook Ventus R-S3 fitment on MINIs
I currently have a set of Hankook Ventus R-S2's on my R50 in 205/50/16. I would really like to try the R-S3's, but aren't sure if they'll fit without rubbing issues. My car is only lowered by a couple of millimeters (from installing Ireland Engineering camber plates). I have Koni FSD's all around with stock springs. Anybody running these in the 225/50/16 size? Thanks in advance.

See http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to compare tire sizes.
I have no idea if they would rub, but I just had 215-55-17's installed to replace the 205-55-17 stock tires and have no issues.

I'm in the exact same position as you. I want to run the 225's on a 16" wheel but it increases the overall tire diameter by almost an 1/2" and I think it may actually hurt performance. I also like the price at that size, it's cheaper then the Dunlap star specs at 205/50/16 and the R-S3's at 205/55/16.
But I think if performance is most important I believe that the Dunlap is the only option for us unless we switch to 17" wheels and their increased weights.
For what its worth a wider tire may actually have a smaller contact patch at the recommended psi due to the fact that our car won't flatten the tire out because of the higher weight required when adding more volume of air to a tire.
