tire pressure sensor monitor question
tire pressure sensor monitor question
Hi, Newbie here...
I am looking at buying a set of slightly used snow tires with rims for my 09 Mini Cooper s clubman.
My question is, how does the tpms system work? Can I have it reconnected to new rims? Do I have to get a tire place to do it?
Oh, by the way, the rims/tires in question are from an 06 mcs.
I don't want to run snows without the tpms, especially as I won't have a spare. Is it better to just buy snow tires and have them mounted to my existing rims, or can I swap rims?
Thanks!

I'd test fit the lugs from the R56 1st. Then bolt one up on the front and see if it clears. The final step it to see if the safety humps where the tires sit are flat behind the valve stem. This accommodates your sensor.
Thanks for the reply. I did buy them - it was about half of what I would pay for just snow tires for both the tires and rims, and the tires are less than 1000 miles old!
I did what you said and test fit a lug and they fit. We actually swapped out the wheels and drove home on the new snows!
.... however, the tpms light is on on the dash.
