Hey sorry to post this since I'm positive I read this already somewhere on here, but I have an impending track day coming up and want to get going on my tire quest ASAP. I have a spare set of stock R82 15" x 5.5" rims and am curious what the max tire size I can put on here. I'm planning on using these for mostly track days.

I'm also open for suggestions on a good (cheaper) brand of tires, but most importantly I need to get the sizing issue squared.

Again I'm sorry because I know there is an awesome thread on here covering this in detail, I just haven't been able to find it. Also the info I have found for 15" rims, i think might be for the 7" width. Anyways, thanks in advance!!

 

I know people have managed to get 205/50-15 tires onto the R81 "Holies" rims, and the R81 is 15" X 5.5" as well.

 

The recommended wheel width for 205 width tires is 5.5 - 7.5 inches.
When you get to 215, the smallest width recommended is 6 inches.
Several people here run 205/55/15. 205/50/15 will fit also, but that's pretty short in diameter.
