Anyone out there tried the new Thule K-Summit low profile snow chains on their Mini? They attach to one of the lug bolts with no chain or cable on the inside of the tire. Look like they should work.

I came across those last year looking at roof racks. They look pretty neat. I wonder if they still fit a lowed MINI (say JCW Suspension)?
I have a pair coming tomorrow, will let you know if they fit a stock '12 MCS with 17" wheels. Keeping my fingers crossed.

They test fitted great although I did not drive on dry pavement to center them. I just got back from a 1600 mile round trip to Calif. As you might guess, carrying chains insured no need for them.
Did encounter slush and frozen snow in one pass and the MINI handled that without drama.

Agreed, a little cheaper from Amazon.com though.
But if you need to chain up 3 or 4 times during a single trip, might be worth it considering cold wet hands and knees,
I'll admit I was intrigued with the technology and the quality is definitly there.
