Just wanted to say Thanks....no more RFTs
I appreciate all those that have gone before and all those that have offered help/suggestions and comments. I just replaced my run flats with regular tires and couldn't be happier. It's not often that I choose the less expensive option because I like it the best!
The details...'09 Clubman S, about 25K miles. Just had a set of Yokohama INVigors installed. (locally purchased and installed). The car is quieter, rides much nicer and seems more sure-footed. My wife, a passenger for errands this morning commented..."it seems smoother".
I was hesitant about the changing the tires, but at this point on the new tires (< 100 miles), I am very happy. The two big downers about the car for me are the ride quality and the fact that the doors don't stay open. This fixes one of them! I'm seriously thinking about bolting a piston to the fender and door, on the outside, to fix the other one!
I visited a couple of junkyards, hoping to score a spare, but no luck. I'll probably bite the bullet and order a new one from DetroitTuned. I have the jack and stuff, so all I need is the spare and the new styrofoam shelf.
I read through all the posts about tires before I visited the tire store, so I was prepared. I looked at the Nitto NeoGens, but the tire guy thought the Yokohama's would give a better ride. I use the car to commute back and forth to work (50 miles/day), about 50% in town and 50% highway....ride comfort and quiet are more important to me than full-on sport handling.
Runflats are an interesting marketing/technology choice. Given the choice, I would never choose them. They kind of suck.

I've bought 4pkgs. now and none have fit so far!!

Thanks in advance!!

I can add 1 On Topic thing...I switched out Molly's RF's @ 1.5yrs. and will never go back to RF's!!
googlie eye update....Sorry RJKimbell, I don't know the actual size. My wife is a crafter and she had a whole package of them. We just looked through them until we found some that fit.
They have been on the car about a year or so...they haven't fallen off, but they have turned a bit yellow. The picture was taken just after I put them on.
