Help! with passenger rear brake caliper

I have put new pads all around my 2005 Mini. No problems until I got to the passenger rear caliper. I have the compression tool that you turn but it will not go back in. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have applied pressure and turned. Been trying for over an hour to get this caliper compressed!!!

Finally got it!

When you spin the tool do the prongs spin, too? They should. If they don't, like my Harbor Freight one did, you need to put a pin of some sort like a nail or cotter through the hole in the threaded shaft so it all rotates as a unit when you twist the handle. Some solid pressure will also be needed to make the pads retract and spin. Good luck!

Good you got it resolved.

In case others with the same problem come across this thread, a c-clamp and pliers worked for me:
