Wow, I am sure you are happy with your purchase, but for $3100 I could get a nice set of CCWs, BBS, Volks, etc.

To each their own, but that just seems crazy.. hopefully you just bundled it into your financing cause I could never justify that.

Luckly I bought the car used and they cam on the car! I'm actually looking to sell them to go with a 17in rim there just aren't many tire options for my rims. My tires are 205/40-18 and they are just to low pro for my taste. I could go with a 215/45 or even 225/50 but it would make it slot more challenging to do the suspension upgrades I want to do with out rubbing issues. So a 16 or 17 in rim would be way better! Now I just have to find a buyer for these rims!

I have some 17x7.5 5zigen Proracer GN+ wheels, they currently have a 205/45/17. They will easily accept a 215-225/40-50/R17 without any issue.

They are blue, I wouldnt mind looking into some other wheels.

Pics of wheels on car:

If you are interested shoot me a pm and we can discuss. I personally like the 5zigens because they have the similar look to a TE-37, but they are NOT a knock off the TE-37 like Varrstons are.

Just test mounted the TE37SL on the MINI yesterday. Tires mounted are 215/45R17. IMO, they would look a LOT better with 215/40R17

I like the new shoes! I have 205/40_r18 I don't like that small of sidewalk maybe because I'm stock ride height. I would like to get 215/45-18 it would give a better look on my car I think.

What is the width on the wheels?

I would love to find some 17x8 or 17x9s

the trouble with expensive wheels is that they are expensive!

I love the TE37's and the only reason why I haven't decided to pull the trigger on them is that when the spokes don't go all the way to the lip they looks smaller than they actually are. For my MINI I'd like the 17's to look as big as possible as I'd rather have 18s but I don't care for the extra weight and clearance.

Sounds like the perfect wheel, lighter, cheaper, and you are forced to buy them in one amazing color.

Why are those wheels $4,000 per set? They look like those wheels you get for honda civics that are "lightweight" for $100 a wheel???? For $4,000, I'd be getting some nice rotiform wheels or BBS wheels, or some rare vintage wheels! Someone please explain to me why these are so expensive?

100% Forged processed wheels, and extremely light for the size; and the Japanee Yen is currently stronger than the US dollar.

To each his own i guess. Well, there ARE a lot of BBS knock offs available too, right? BBS wheels are also known to be light but I think the Volk Racing line of Rays are still lighter.

Now I'm trying to recall why exactly BBS wheels made in Japan are more expensive than the ones made in Germany...is it because the aluminum used in Japan BBS wheels are ACQ? (Aircraft quality)

I was wondering if because the forged wheels are so much stiiffer would they handle better? I watched a cast wheel being straightened and looked like it was made of rubbery plastic.

Actually, handling is most affeected by un-sprung weight, so the more you can to "add lightness" the better agility and response you'll get.
The forged process allows for superior strength both for impacts and prolong stress.

Most cast wheels are very ductile if there's no post heat-treatment, that's pretty standard with the metallurgy of cast non-ferrous metals.

I was thinking less deflection during hard cornering, keeping the tire tread better connected

Volks are right up there with BBS in terms of quality. They're a more JDM styling, but in terms of strength, weight, and finish they are comparable to any of the other high end wheel companies.

Volk is a great wheel company
