Akebono Euro Pads Don't Fit my '08 Mini

I recently tried to install Akebono EUR1204 ceramic linings on my '08 base, but they didn't fit because they were too tall. I was able to trim them down and got them to fit, but it was a real pain. Has anyone else had this problem? I wrote Akebono and I'm waiting for a response. For what it's worth, dust is now GONE. There is a little less bite, and a bit more effort, all expected from a ceramic pad. By the way, the term "ceramic" is a marketing term. The pads are actually what's known as NAO, or Non-Asbestos Organic, but since ceramic sounds better, that's how they are marketed. Since there is no steel in these linings, they don't wear the rotor, which is the source of brake dust, and they don't have as good of fade performance, since the lack if steel results is less ability to withstand high temperatures. How do I know these things? I'm a brake engineer with 25+ years in the business.

From the pics it looks like they sent you S pads and you have just a Cooper.
You needed the other Akebono Cooper non S pads.

Sorry but I admit I use the pic of the S pads for both on my site, but I know they are different and ship the correct ones, but I need time to take the pics.

The Akebono web catalog seemed to be the issue. Listings were ambiguous, so I ordered the S pads by mistake. Base pads were not listed, but available nonetheless. They're sending me correct parts gratis. Can't complain about the customer service! Pedal feel is still a bit heavy, particularly noticeable at higher decels, but easy to get used to. But I sure don't miss the brake dust- it's GONE. Mission accomplished.
