Planning on buying some shoes this weekend, anyone know if 16x9.5 will fit? yes i know there'll be poke. but im not going for the tank look. so wheel guys/gals plz input opinions

While you're waiting for a response from a wide wheel geek, you might start reading the "Roll Call - 8"+ wide wheels" thread in the "Tires, Wheels and Brakes" forum here. There are over 500 posts (many with pics) in 21 pages.

I'm more of a tank-look conservative, but there's probably some way to make a 16X9.5" wheel fit, if you don't mind doing what it takes.

What size tires do you plan to mount on those wheels?

 

I think Puma is running a setup like that on "Trouble". Check him out at motoringunderground.com. He is streched alot though.
