TPMS - How does it work

I am getting new mini wheels and tires which will come with a new TPMS attached to each wheel. Can I simply take my wheels off and install the new ones or do I need to do something to link the TPMS?

You seem to have an 05, which doesn't have the TPMS so there shouldn't be any problem. The TPMS monitors the pressure in each tire using a module in each tire. Prior to sometime in 07 there was the Flat Tire Monitor which uses the ABS sensors to measure the rotation of the wheels. If one tire goes significantly faster than the others its judged to be flat. That doesn't need any hardware in the wheel.
