I was at the local tire store today and they claim they can put some 235/45/17 on the mini I was looking at 225's but 235 that seems a bit much. Any input?
I would play it safe and run 225/45/17 on that wheel. I have the 17 inch S-Lites for my 2004 and I would say that 235 would be a bit wide for my car to clear the rubber without rubbing.

225/45-17 knocked out my fender trim and broke the clips w/JCW suspension. Uurrgh But I have an R53. 235/40-17 fit if you dremmeled the plastic and hammer down metal edges. Other than that 225/40-17 would fit perfect but the only street tire available in that size is (Nitto NT555) sub par. Perfrmance wise I would say 215/40-17 is best size in like a Dunlop Star Spec or Yoko AD08, hands down.
