How to turn off the Tire Pressure Monitor on a 2005 Cooper

Like the title says, I was curious how to turn off the Tire Pressure Monitor/Indicator light on my 2005 Mini Cooper. I had a nail in a tire so the light came on, got a new tire, but the light remains on. Is there some trick to it or do I need to take it to the dealer? I got the new tire at Discount Tire rather than going through the dealer, and they said the light would go off once I drove the car, but that didn't happen.

Thanks!

I don't remember off hand, but if you look in your owners manual it tells you how. No trip to the dealer or tire store is required.

Here's what I remember, my memory isn't good. Turn the key on, push the button on the console near the park brake & drive as instructed.

^ +1 - If that isn't it there is no need to go to the dealer.

The Directions should be in the owners manual.

1) Fix tire, set tire pressures all around to spec

2) Drive car. Whilst driving press and hold the button near the parking brake till the light changes, then continue driving till it goes out. System is now reset.

That was one of the first things I looked up in the manual! It's such an odd place for a button and I didn't recognize the symbol on it. It used to come on after every tire rotation so I got used to resetting it after many false alarms.
