205/55/16

Has anyone had experience with 205/55/16 on a stock '06 MCS.

Any rubbing issues?

Less I have a friend that uses that size on his R56 MCS that has been lowered. He has no clearance issues, but his MINI is an R56.

I'm thinking when I wear my 205-50-16 Goodyear GSD F1's out I'll change to 205-55-16.

they are not all that much bigger anyway, so they should fit fine, even lowered. depends on the tire itself as well...some are built bigger than others.

That size worked just fine on mine. They were Goodyear Eagle GTs.

and as with any larger tire, you may get a tad slower accelleration and a 'cushier' ride. They helped my speedo to be closer to correct within 2 mph....my other wheels w/stock size 17s are 4+mph off

Thanks gang. I'm not much for reinventing the wheel and value experiential input and observations.

Thanks for the thoughts on 205x55x16's. I run the 205x50x16's and for around town they are great since they lower the overall gear ratio and give a lot of extra zip, but for road driving they rev the motor a bit faster thus eating more fuel.
